An evolvement of Etronit II that conforms to the same norms (IEC PF CP 203 and NEMA XX) and shares the same CTI (100) and temperature index (120°C). Due to it's mechanical strength it is used in various electrical appliances such as rail supports, dividing plates and covering materials.
The main difference between Etronit IIQ and Etronit I comes down to a trade-off between electrical and mechanical performance. Etronit I is by far the stronger of the two electrically. It also absorbs less moisture. IIQ moves the balance the other way. It is described on its own datasheet as the mechanically best grade in the Etronit range, with a noticeably higher bending strength than Etronit I. That extra mechanical strength comes at the cost of electrical performance and moisture resistance, where Etronit I has the clear advantage.
Suitable for electrical insulation and other electrical applications.
Suitable for applications where the materials are exposed to mechanical impact.
The compact structure of the material optimises its mechanical and electrotechnical properties.
The easy-to-machine material makes for unlimited possibilities.
