Very good electrical and mechanical properties. Extremely high mechanical strength. Retains its electrical properties at relatively high humidity. High chemical resistance. Construction and insulation material in larger rotating electrical machines, insulation cylinders in dry-type transformers.
Closest relevant standards
IEC 60893:EP GC 21
NEMA LI 1:G - 10
DIN 7735:Hgw 2375
Conforms to the EP GC 21 standard (tubes). An extremely good insulating material used for components in a wide range of electrotechnical installations. It is well suited to shielding metal parts so that the electrical connection is fully enclosed, and is also used gaskets where it is more dimensionally stable than plastic.
It offers particularly good electrical and mechanical properties, retains its mechanical strength even at high temperatures, and keeps its electrical properties at high air humidity, with high resistance to chemicals. It is used as a construction and insulation material in large rotating electrical machines and insulation cylinders in transformers.
EP 10 and EP 11 conform to two different standards: EP GC 21 and EP GC 22 respectively. EP 11 is a further development of EP 10 and represents an improved material in terms of both strength and electrical properties. The practical difference showing up mainly in temperature index: EP 10 is rated to 140°C and EP 11 to 180°C. If your application calls for a material meeting EP GC 21 and you're operating close to its limit values, EP 11 is the natural alternative to consider.
Suitable for electrical insulation and other electrical applications.
Suitable for applications where the materials are exposed to mechanical impact.
The material remains functional and retains its properties even at high temperatures.
The easy-to-machine material makes for unlimited possibilities.
