Being responsible is a choice. Across our more than 100 years working with production and machining of composite materials, responsibility has been an ever-present cornerstone. Responsibility for one another. Responsibility for our employees. Responsibility for the world around us.
Today, we naturally continue to assume responsibility. Including for the world around us. That is why we are taking the step to ensure a more sustainable production and machining of our materials, by signing up to the Science Based Targets initiative. This entails committing to a minimum 50% reduction of our CO2 emissions by 2030, compared to the levels in 2018.
We are looking forward to the work ahead to optimise our processes and make them more sustainable, but fortunately this is not new to us. Back in 1984, for example, we applied for a voluntary environmental approval – long before this was a legal requirement in Denmark. Below you can read more about our journey towards an even more responsible production process.
We sign up to the Science Based Targets initiative. This means committing to reduce Elektro-Isola’s CO2 emissions by at least 50% by the year 2030, compared to the 2018 levels.
Elektro-Isola takes part in the Climate-Ready SME project financed by the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) and the Manufacturing Fund (Fremstillingsindustrien) with support from the Danish Industry Foundation (Industriens Fond). Elektro-Isola maps its entire CO2 emissions.
Elektro-Isola is awarded its ISO 14001 environmental certification.
After three years of preparations and optimisations, Elektro-Isola is awarded its voluntary environmental approval.
Elektro-Isola becomes one of the first companies in Europe to invest in a high-capacity incineration plant.
Elektro-Isola decides to apply for a voluntary environmental approval – many years before this becomes a legal requirement.
